Expert VR Headset & Spatial Computing Repair Services

Virtual Reality and Spatial Computing have rapidly evolved past basic entertainment into high-performance enterprise and gaming applications. From the optical density of the Apple Vision Pro to the ultra-low latency of the Valve Index, these headsets are marvels of modern engineering.

But when highly calibrated internal components fail—whether through blunt force impact, liquid damage, or motherboard failure—you need more than a basic screen swap. RockIT Repairs is the premier micro-soldering and diagnostics lab serving Stafford, Fredericksburg, and Spotsylvania.

Component-Level Repairs We Execute

VR headsets are tightly integrated ecosystems. We utilize thermal imaging and board-view schematics to identify the exact point of hardware failure.

Display & Optics Matrix

A cracked LCD/OLED panel or scratched lens destroys immersion. We perform clean-room grade separation to replace delicate optical arrays without introducing dust.

  • Pancake and Fresnel lens replacement.
  • OLED and LCD panel unbricking and replacement.
  • Eye-tracking camera recalibration.

Sensors & Spatial Tracking

If your headset loses its guardian boundary or fails to map the room, the internal sensor array has failed. We trace shorts on the logic board controlling these inputs.

  • Depth sensor and LiDAR array repairs.
  • Gyroscopic and accelerometer board-level fixes.
  • Base station laser calibration (PCVR).

Power Delivery & I/O

Melted charging ports and dead batteries are the #1 killer of standalone VR headsets. We perform micro-soldering on damaged power rails.

  • Melted USB-C port desoldering and replacement.
  • Charging IC (Integrated Circuit) replacement.
  • High-capacity battery cell swaps.

Controllers & Haptics

From joystick drift to shattered tracking rings, motion controllers take the brunt of VR accidents. We restore complete tactile functionality.

  • Hall-effect joystick upgrades (eliminates stick drift).
  • Haptic motor replacement.
  • Infrared tracking LED array reconstruction.

Supported Hardware Architectures (2026 Index)

We support the current generation of spatial computers, standalone HMDs, and tethered PCVR units.

  • Apple: Vision Pro (EyeSight display, audio straps, battery pack logic).
  • Meta: Quest 3, Quest 3S, Quest Pro, and Quest 2 legacy support.
  • Sony: PlayStation VR2 (PSVR2) tether cables, sense controllers, and PSVR1.
  • Valve: Valve Index HMDs, Knuckles controllers, and Base Stations.
  • HTC: Vive Pro 2, Vive XR Elite, and Cosmos hardware.
  • Enthusiast PCVR: Bigscreen Beyond, Pimax Crystal, and HP Reverb G2.

The RockIT Diagnostic Standard

Why do residents across the Fredericksburg and Stafford region bypass manufacturer RMAs and come to us?

  • No-Guesswork Diagnostics: We utilize multimeters and oscilloscopes to test exact voltage lines before quoting a repair.
  • Data Privacy Assured: Hardware repairs do not require your device passwords. Your local data remains securely firewalled.
  • Rapid Turnaround: We stock OEM-equivalent components locally to get your headset back online in days, not weeks.

Gear VR S6 Edition Review
/ By Jonathan Hawkins / VR Headsets / 0 Comments

Today we had the opportunity to test out and review the new Samsung Gear VR Innovator Edition for the S6 and S6 Edge. These are very well made and most certainly an upgrade to  Google Cardboard. The first thing I notice out of the box that separates this from the cheap cardboard vr headsets is the around the head and over the head straps. One of the biggest issues I had with the lower end models was that you had to hold the VR box to your face. This can be very exhausting for long periods of time. The second thing I noticed is the build quality from Samsung. These are a very hard plastic with a shiny finish that gives you a modern looking headset for Virtual Reality viewing. They are very comfortable thanks to the pads on the top strap and the rear strap. The foam Read more “Samsung Gear VR Innovator S6 Edition | Unboxing and Review”
